Prosecutors of the Galician District Prosecutor’s Office of the city of Lviv completed the pre-trial investigation and sent an indictment to the court against a 33-year-old resident of Rivne Oblast for embezzlement of budget funds and official forgery (Part 4 of Article 191, Part 2 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation established that LKP Lvivavtodor announced a tender for major repairs of one of Lviv’s streets. Based on its results, a contract was concluded with the company headed by the accused.
Later, in order to seize budget funds, the defendant falsified official documents, namely, he entered knowingly false information, with unreliable data regarding the execution of construction works and the use of materials for the object. Therefore, the accused took possession of more than UAH 300,000 of budget funds.
The pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings was carried out by the investigators of the investigative department of the LRUP No. 1 of the GUNP in the Lviv region under the operational support of the operational units of the USR in the Lviv region of the DSR of the NP of Ukraine.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
