Following a public prosecution by the Galician District Prosecutor’s Office in Lviv, 29 and 27-year-old local residents were found guilty. They were convicted of the illegal acquisition, storage and sale of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances (Part 3 of Article 15, Part 2, 3 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
They were sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment with confiscation of property.
Prosecutors proved in court that the defendants had organised a criminal scheme for the sale of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. These included amphetamine, PVP, MDA, 4-MMC and cannabis.
They purchased the prohibited substances in bulk through an online store and a Telegram channel associated with their illicit trafficking.
Subsequently, the men sold the substances in the form of bookmarks in various places in Lviv. They also sent them by parcels of different postal operators, disguising them among other things and using fictitious personal data for conspiracy.
The court’s verdict will come into force after the expiry of the appeal period.
The pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1 of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv Region.
