24-Year-Old Avdiivka Native Sentenced to 5.5 Years for Sexual Assault on an 8-Year-Old Child

The Frankivsk District Prosecutor’s Office in Lviv secured the conviction of a 24-year-old man for sexual violence against a person under the age of 14 (Part 4, Article 153 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The court sentenced the offender to 5 years and 6 months of imprisonment.

During the court proceedings, prosecutors proved that in July of this year, at a dormitory in Lviv housing internally displaced persons, the man committed sexual assault against an 8-year-old boy.

Until the verdict becomes legally binding, the accused will remain in custody.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators from Police Department No. 2 of the Lviv District Police Administration under the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Lviv Region.

The court decision will take effect once the appeal period expires.

Additionally, the offender’s details will be entered into the Registry of Persons Convicted of Crimes Against Sexual Freedom and Integrity of Minors.
