In Lviv and Stryi, as a result of two separate road traffic accidents, two pedestrians were injured and hospitalized. Both incidents occurred on the morning of January 24. In one of the incidents that took place on Volodymyr Velikyi Street in Lviv, a 24-year-old driver of a Peugeot Boxer minibus from the Stryi region hit a 61-year-old woman. In the second case, which occurred on Taras Shevchenko Street in Stryi city, a 44-year-old local resident driving an Opel Meriva struck a 44-year-old woman from his town.
Territorial police units are actively working on the investigation of both cases. They have already managed to open criminal proceedings for violating road safety rules, with the possibility of restricting freedom and revoking driving rights for up to three years.
Lviv police urge all road users to treat traffic rules carefully and responsibly, especially in difficult weather conditions and in populated areas, to avoid similar tragedies in the future.
