According to the procedural guidance of the Yavoriv District Prosecutor’s Office, a 34-year-old local resident was notified of the suspicion of violating traffic safety rules, a person driving a vehicle while intoxicated, causing serious bodily injury to the victim (part 2 of Article 286-1 Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, on May 29 of this year at lunchtime, the suspect was driving a car under the influence of alcohol and was driving along the central street of the city of Yavorova.
The stuntwoman lost control and drove onto the sidewalk, where she ran into a woman – a pedestrian.
As a result, the victim received serious injuries and was taken to the hospital.
The court chose a preventive measure for the suspect in the form of detention with the right to post bail in the amount of more than UAH 800,000.
The pre-trial investigation is carried out by the investigators of the Yavoriv district police department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Lviv region.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
