A 44-year-old man from the Kamianka-Buzka district will spend three years behind bars due to a road accident committed while intoxicated

According to the public indictment of the prosecutors of the Zhovkiv district prosecutor’s office, a 44-year-old local resident was found guilty of violating road safety rules by a person driving a vehicle, which caused serious bodily injury to the victim (part 2 of article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The man was sentenced to 3 years in prison. And also deprived of the right to drive vehicles for a period of 3 years.

Prosecutors proved in court that the convict, being in a state of alcohol intoxication, was driving a passenger car on the street of one of the villages of Kamyanka-Buzka district.

The man drove into the middle of the road and did not give way to an oncoming motorcycle, as a result of which the vehicles collided.

A minor motorcycle driver was injured in the form of an open fracture of his right leg as a result of being hit by a car.

After the accident, the accused did not provide any help to the victim, despite the fact that the latter asked him to call an ambulance, he immediately drove away from the scene.
