The road accident occurred on 11 October at 8.15 a.m. on the road near the village of Pidhaitsi, Lviv district.
As law enforcement officers have preliminarily established, a BMW 320 driven by a 20-year-old resident of a town in the Sambir district and a BMW 120 driven by a 39-year-old resident of the Lviv district collided. As a result of the collision, the driver of the BMW 120 was injured and taken to hospital.
Investigators opened criminal proceedings over the incident under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Violation of traffic safety rules). The maximum penalty provided for by the sanction of the article is restraint of liberty for up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
The police are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
