Two Lviv residents illegally organised border crossing for persons liable for military service for USD 20,000

Two Lviv women exposed for USD 20,000 for illegal border crossing by persons liable for military service

 

Under the procedural supervision of the Lviv Region Prosecutor’s Office, the Prosecutor’s Office exposed and served suspicion notices to two Lviv residents. They are charged with organising the illegal transfer of a person across the state border of Ukraine (Part 3 of Art. 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, during the martial law, the suspects organised a scheme to smuggle a person liable for military service across the state border.

In return for a monetary reward, they promised the man that they could produce a package of fictitious documents on the basis of which he would be able to travel abroad without hindrance.

The price of this service was USD 20,000.

The women were detained in accordance with Article 208 of the CPC of Ukraine after receiving the money.

At the request of the prosecutors, the detainees were detained in custody with the right to be released on bail.

The investigation is ongoing.

The pre-trial investigation is being carried out by investigators of the Main Department of the National Police in Lviv region, based on the materials of the SBU Office in Lviv region.

Note: In accordance with Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person shall be presumed innocent of committing a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until his or her guilt is proved by law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
