The traffic accident occurred on August 24 at 4:40 p.m. on the Stryi-Izvarine highway in the village of Turady, Stryi district.
As previously established by law enforcement officers, the driver of the “Lifan” motorcycle, a 21-year-old resident of the area, collided with an “Opel Vivaro” car driven by a 42-year-old local resident.
As a result of the accident, the drivers of both vehicles were injured and taken to a medical facility.
According to the fact, the investigators of the territorial unit of the police of Lviv Oblast opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty stipulated by the article is up to three years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of up to three years.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
The police of the Lviv Region urges drivers of all vehicles, including two-wheelers, to strictly follow the requirements of the Traffic Rules, be attentive, do not exceed the speed limit, maneuver carefully and constantly monitor the road conditions.
