Two injured pedestrians as a result of a car collision in Lviv

The traffic accident happened on October 24 at 7:15 a.m. on Varshavska Street.

As previously established by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the Opel Omega car, a 49-year-old local resident, ran over pedestrians, residents of Lviv aged 51 and 63. As a result of the collision, the pedestrians were injured and taken to the hospital.

According to the fact, the investigators of the Police Department No. 1 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1 opened criminal proceedings under part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided by the sanction of the article is restriction of liberty for a term of up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years.

An investigation is underway, law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
