The traffic accident occurred on May 21, around 06:00, on the Lviv-Sheghini highway near the village of Vovchukhy, Lviv district.
As previously determined by the law enforcement officers, there was a collision between a Ford Transit minibus driven by a 58-year-old resident of Ivano-Frankivsk region and a BMW car driven by a 23-year-old resident of one of the villages of the district.
As a result of the accident, the BMW driver and his passenger, a 24-year-old resident of one of the villages of the district, were injured and taken to the hospital.
As a matter of fact, the investigators of the Police Department No. 1 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2 opened criminal proceedings under part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum punishment provided by the sanction of the article is restriction of liberty for a term of up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
