Two people died as a result of a car collision in Zolochiv Oblast

The traffic accident occurred on March 9, around 1:00 p.m., on the highway “Kyiv-Chop”, near the village of Novy Mylyatyn in the Zolochiv district.

As previously established by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the Skoda Fabia, a 43-year-old woman from Lviv, lost control, drove into the oncoming traffic lane and collided with a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter minibus driven by a 57-year-old resident of the Zhytomyr region.

The car driver and his passenger, a 14-year-old girl from Lviv, died at the scene of the injuries sustained as a result of the accident.

According to the fact, the investigators of the Department of Investigation of Crimes in the Field of Transport of the Lviv Oblast Police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of Traffic Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years or without it.

Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
