The traffic accident happened on August 30 at 9:30 a.m. on Danylo Halytskyi Square.
As previously established by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the Citroen Jumper car, a 35-year-old resident of Lviv, hit a pedestrian, a 65-year-old resident of the city of Sumy. As a result of the collision, the pedestrian was injured and taken to the hospital.
According to the fact, the investigators of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1 opened criminal proceedings under part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided by the sanction of the article is restriction of liberty for a term of up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years.
An investigation is underway, law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
