Under the procedural leadership of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the former temporary acting head of the Capital Construction Department of the Lviv Regional State Administration was informed of the suspicion of embezzlement of someone else’s property in particularly large amounts and the issuance of knowingly false official documents (Part 5 of Article 191, Part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, the suspect issued official documents with known false information about the volume of construction work performed, as well as regarding the purchase and installation of medical equipment at the construction site of a monopractice clinic in one of the villages of Skoliv district. On the basis of these documents, payment was made for works that were not actually performed, and for equipment that was not purchased and installed.
As a result, the state suffered particularly large losses in the amount of over 900,000 hryvnias.
Investigations are ongoing. Pretrial investigation in criminal proceedings is carried out by investigators of the Investigative Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police of the Lviv Region, based on the materials of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Lviv Region.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
