Former state registrar in Lviv to be tried for illegal registration of ownership of premises

Under the procedural supervision of the Halych District Prosecutor’s Office of Lviv, an indictment against a 31-year-old resident of Lviv region was sent to court.

He is accused of unauthorized alteration of information processed in electronic computers, automated systems, computer networks or stored on the carriers of such information (Part 1 of Article 362 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

It was established that the accused, while holding the position of state registrar, knowing that there were no documents on commissioning of the completed construction object, as well as that the submitted certificate on the total area of the object was not true, illegally made changes to the State Register of Rights regarding the ownership of the real estate object.

As a result, the non-residential premises located in one of Lviv’s districts were effectively removed from communal ownership.

At the request of the prosecutor, the court seized the above-mentioned property.

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings was carried out by investigators of the Police Department No. 1 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1 of the Main Department of the National Police of the region.

Note: In accordance with Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until his or her guilt is proved by law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
