Under the procedural guidance of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a former acting head of the capital construction department of the Lviv Regional State Administration was suspected of misappropriation of budget funds (Part 4 of Article 191, Part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
It was established that the official, without providing a preliminary check of the completeness of work performed by the business entity on the object “Construction of outpatient general practice of family medicine” in one of the districts of Lviv region in April 2020, committed intentional actions to pay the inflated cost of such work. Thus, budget funds in the amount of UAH 283,000 were wasted.
Investigative actions are underway.
Pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings is carried out by investigators of the Investigative Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police of Lviv region, according to the USBU in Lviv region.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and may not be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proved in law and established by a court conviction.
