A thief from the Pustomyty region will spend 7 years behind bars – she tried to steal all the savings from resettled women

According to the public indictment of the prosecutors of the Pustomytov district prosecutor’s office, a native of Dnipropetrovsk region, who has been tried many times before, was found guilty of an unfinished attempt to secretly steal property in particularly large amounts. committed under martial law (Part 3 of Article 15, Part 5 of Article 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

She was sentenced to 7 years in prison.

Prosecutors proved in court that in March 2023, in one of the villages of the Lviv district, the defendant tried to steal all her savings from a resettled woman.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the victim has moved to live with her relatives. She brought all her life savings with her.

While the woman was not at home, the convict broke into her room and tried to steal all the savings – about UAH 900,000. However, the owners of the house heard the rustling and went to check what was happening. They saw the accused in their relative’s room and detained her.

After the relatives called, the victim immediately returned home and, after checking the hiding place, did not find any money there.

Hearing that the owners of the house were planning to call the police, the accused threw the loot in a corner, but was noticed by one of the witnesses.

The woman will be in custody until the verdict becomes final.
