Lviv resident sentenced to 6 years in prison for selling psychotropic drugs

According to the public indictment of the Frankiv District Prosecutor’s Office of the city of Lviv, a 34-year-old man from Lviv was found guilty on the facts of illegal acquisition, storage and sale of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances and illegal storage without the purpose of sale (Part 2 of Article 307, Part 1 of Article 309 Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The court sentenced him to 6 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The prosecutors proved in court that the accused organized the sale of particularly dangerous psychotropic substances in Lviv.

The man sold PVP to local residents. Clients received the goods at the meeting, directly at the person’s home.

Law enforcement officers detained the accused in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine after the sale of another “dose” of psychotropic drugs.

During searches of the person’s residence, prohibited substances prepared for sale were discovered and seized. In addition, the man illegally purchased and kept methadone for his own use.

The man is currently in custody.

The pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2 of the Main Department of the National Police in the Lviv Region.

The court verdict becomes legally binding after the expiry of the appeal period.
