A man from Lviv was put on trial for claiming that Ukraine would cease to exist, and Little Russia would replace it.

Under the procedural leadership of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, an indictment against a citizen of Ukraine was sent to the court. He is accused of disseminating materials calling for changes to the borders of the territory of Ukraine, deliberate actions aimed at inciting national enmity, propaganda of war, spreading the symbols of the communist totalitarian regime and justifying the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorifying its participants (part 2 of article 110, part 1 Article 161, Article 436, Part 2 of Article 436-1, Part 2 of Article 436-2, Part 3 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The investigation established that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine, the accused, using his own account on the Odnoklassniki social network, distributed materials calling for actions to change the borders of the territory of Ukraine.

In particular, he posted posts in which he claimed that Ukraine would cease to exist this year. And also about the fact that the friendly brotherly country “Little Russia” will be restored again.

In addition, the defendant incited national enmity and called for an aggressive war. The man spread the propaganda narratives of the aggressor country and the forbidden symbols of the communist totalitarian regime.

The accused also distributed videos in which he denied the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, which began in 2014.

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings was carried out by investigators of the SBU Office in the Lviv region.

Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
