Lviv Region Engulfed by Fires: Hectares of Land Destroyed and Animals Perished
Over the past day, the Lviv region has turned into a complete charred wasteland – 90 wildfires of dry grass have destroyed hectares of land. The flames spared no one: plants burned, animals perished, and the fire advanced towards human dwellings.
Rescuers’ Rapid Actions
In one of the fires, the flames spread from the burning grass to a building. Thanks to the quick actions of the rescuers, the fire was stopped, and two buildings were saved from the flames.
The Danger of Setting Dry Grass Ablaze
A thrown cigarette butt or setting dry vegetation on fire is a deadly threat! The flames do not distinguish who to claim – a person, an animal, or hectares of land.
Setting dry grass on fire is also punishable by law in the form of a fine:
- for citizens from 3,060 UAH to 6,120 UAH
- for officials from 15,300 UAH to 21,420 UAH
