Yesterday, January 2, operatives of the strategic investigations department in the Lviv region of the National Police, together with investigators of the Lviv district police department No. 1, detained the deputy director of one of the region’s forestry farms.
The figurehead established a corruption mechanism for the unhindered release of wood. The official demanded 20,000 hryvnias of illegal profit from one entrepreneur.
While receiving the second part of the funds – 12,000 hryvnias – the deputy director of the forest farm was detained in one of the catering establishments. Earlier, in December last year, he received a deposit of 6,000 hryvnias.
Under the procedural guidance of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the suspect was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The issue of notifying him of suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 368 (soliciting and receiving illegal benefits) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and choosing a preventive measure.
