Following a public prosecution by prosecutors of the Zolochiv District Prosecutor’s Office, a 30-year-old resident of Brody was found guilty of evading military service during mobilization (Article 336 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
He was sentenced to 3 years in prison.
The prosecutor proved in court that in November 2023, the accused arrived at the territorial center for recruitment and social support in response to a call-up notice. The man was found medically fit for military service by the military medical commission.
Accordingly, at the same time, he was handed a military call-up, according to which he had to report for general mobilization.
However, the defendant failed to report to the recruiting station for service in a designated military unit without a valid reason, thereby violating the requirements of current legislation and evading military conscription.
The pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the Police Department No. 1 of the Zolochiv District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv region.
