Prosecutors of Lviv Region sent to court an indictment against a 36-year-old resident of Stryi.
He is charged with illegal possession and transportation with intent to sell psychotropic substances on an especially large scale, illegal acquisition and storage of precursors on an especially large scale with intent to use them for the manufacture of psychotropic substances, illegal acquisition, storage of equipment intended for the manufacture of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their analogues, as well as organisation and maintenance of places for the illegal manufacture of psychotropic substances (Art. 2, 3 Art. 307, Art. 311, Art. 313, Art. 317 (1) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation established that the defendant organised a laboratory in a country house in Stryi district, where he manufactured a particularly dangerous psychotropic substance. It was amphetamine, which he intended to sell in the future.
For this purpose, the man bought precursors and the necessary equipment for the production of prohibited substances.
The man’s illegal activity was stopped by law enforcement officers when the car was stopped. In particular, during the transportation of ready-to-sell “goods” in a ziplock bag.
In addition, during the authorised searches in the country house, special equipment, precursors and other material evidence were found and seized.
In total, about 210 grams of amphetamine with an estimated value at black market prices of about UAH 150 thousand were seized.
At the request of the prosecutor, the real estate of the accused was seized.
The pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the Main Department of the National Police of the region with the operational support of the Drug Crime Department of the Main Department of the National Police in Lviv region.
Note: In accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until his or her guilt is proved by law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
