A resident of the Chervonograd district will be tried for dumping the remains of animal origin near the forest

In Lviv Oblast, a criminal accused of land pollution will be tried

A resident of one of the villages of the Chervonograd district dumped the remains of animal origin near the forest, thereby causing damage to the environment.

As the law enforcement officers established, on October 10 of last year, a 55-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Chervonograd district took out the remains of animal origin and dumped them near the forest. These actions led to the contamination of the land plot with waste, harmful to the environment and human health due to the accumulation of toxic chemical compounds in the soil.

Investigators of the Chervonograd District Police Department, under the procedural guidance of the Chervonograd District Prosecutor’s Office, completed the pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings opened under Part 1 of Article 239 (Pollution or damage to land) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The indictment is referred to the court.

For the committed offense, the accused faces a penalty of one to four thousand non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens or deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years.

The unauthorized landfill was liquidated.
