Under the procedural guidance of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, an indictment against a 26-year-old resident of Skoliv Oblast was sent to court. He was charged with violating traffic safety rules that caused the victim’s death and leaving her in danger (Part 2 of Article 286, Part 1 of Article 135 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation established that in July of this year in the village of Verkhne-Synyovydne, the driver of a car, exceeding the speed, hit a minor girl. Without stopping, he ran away from the scene, and the eyewitnesses of the event already called an ambulance.
However, the schoolgirl died before the arrival of the last one.
A preventive measure in the form of detention was chosen for the extra.
The pre-trial investigation was carried out by the investigators of the Main Department of the National Police in the Lviv Region.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
