A resident of Stryi was sentenced to 3 years in prison for evading military conscription

A 34-year-old resident of Stryi was found guilty of evading conscription for military service during mobilization (Article 336 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) following a public indictment by prosecutors of the Stryi district prosecutor’s office.

He was sentenced to 3 years in prison.

It was established that in May of this year, the military medical commission examined the accused as fit for military service.

Accordingly, at the same time he was served with a military summons. According to which he had to appear for immediate conscription into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in connection with mobilization.

However, the man did not appear at the territorial recruitment and social support center for service without a valid reason. Therefore, the conscript violated the requirements of the current legislation and evaded military conscription.

The pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the Stryi district police department of the Main Department of the National Police in the Lviv region.

The court verdict becomes legally binding after the expiry of the appeal period.
