It has been preliminarily established that both drivers lost control of their vehicles. Law enforcement officers urge all road users to be careful on the roads.
Follow the requirements of the Traffic Rules, in particular the rules of overtaking. Do not exceed the speed limit and manoeuvre carefully, especially in the dark.
On 9 September, around midnight, on the Rava-Ruska – Sudova Vyshnia road, the driver of a Volkswagen Passat, a 25-year-old Lviv resident, lost control of the vehicle, slid into a ditch and overturned. The driver was injured and died at the scene.
On the same night, at around 00.40, a 25-year-old resident of Chervonohrad district lost control of his motorcycle Spark, drove into a curb and collided with an electric pole. The man died at the scene of the accident from his injuries.
Investigators opened criminal proceedings over these facts under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of the rules of road safety or operation of transport by persons driving vehicles) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The police are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
