At the “Shehyni” border crossing, located on the Ukrainian-Polish border, a significant find was made by the Carpathian Border Guard Unit in collaboration with customs officers and operational staff of the unit. The contraband consisted of illegally transporting liquid for electronic cigarettes.
In the inspection operation, 300 vials were recorded in a “Ford” car and as many as 1200 vials in a “Peugeot”. In total, 1500 units of products were seized. These goods, which belonged to a 56-year-old woman and a 62-year-old man from Lviv region, were purchased in Poland but then attempted to be imported without declaration.
The estimated value of the detained goods could reach over half a million hryvnias. The customs authority initiated the drafting of a protocol for violating customs regulations regarding the detained individuals.
