In the evening of January 17, the body of a murdered 74-year-old man was found in a village in Drohobych region. The killer turned out to be a 46-year-old acquaintance of the man, whom the police managed to detain in hot pursuit.
Around 8:15 p.m., on Tuesday, a woman called the police and reported that her father had been killed. She found her husband’s body in the house. The policemen who came to the call found a stab wound in the neck on the body of the 74-year-old owner of the apartment.
“The police established that a 46-year-old resident of one of the villages of the district was involved in the crime. That day, the perpetrator came to visit the victim. While drinking alcohol, they had a conflict, during which the intruder stabbed the owner in the throat with a knife, from which he died on the spot,” the police reported.
The perpetrator was arrested in hot pursuit. For intentional murder, the criminal faces from seven to fifteen years in prison. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. Soon, the court will choose a preventive measure for the detainee.
