Under the procedural guidance of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the suspicion of Acting the head of the sector of one of the district police departments of Lviv region, who violated the rules of road safety, which resulted in the death of several people (Part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, on April 25, 2022 in the town of Mostyska, Yavoriv district, the suspect violated traffic rules, drove into the oncoming lane and collided with another car. As a result of the accident, the driver of the oncoming car and two of his passengers died at the scene, and two other people are in intensive care.
Investigative actions are underway, the issue of choosing the most severe measure of restraint in the form of detention is being resolved.
Pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings is carried out by investigators of the Territorial Department of the State Bureau of Investigation, located in the city of Lviv.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and may not be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proved in law and established by a court conviction.
