The traffic incident occurred on April 28, around 8:00 p.m., on the highway between the Mystichi and Sannyki villages of the Yavoriv district.
As previously established by law enforcement officers, the driver of the Volkswagen Caddy, a 58-year-old man from Lviv, lost control and drove into a ditch.
As a result of the accident, the driver and four minor passengers – all local residents aged 13, 15, 16 and 17 – received injuries of varying severity and were taken to medical facilities.
It was established that the driver was in a state of alcohol intoxication at the time of the accident – 1.6 ppm was found in his blood.
According to the fact, the investigators of the police department No. 1 of the Yavoriv district police department opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286-1 (Violation of the rules of road traffic safety or operation of transport by persons who drive vehicles while intoxicated) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of up to three years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of three to five years
A pre-trial investigation is being conducted, law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
