On May 27, at 2:20 p.m., the police received a report of an explosion in a Mitsubishi car that occurred in the parking lot of one of the hotels located in the Lviv district near the state border with the Republic of Poland.
The following people worked at the scene: the investigative and operative group of the police department # 1 of the Lviv district police department # 2, explosives technicians and employees of other police services of the Lviv region.
According to police, a grenade, probably an F-1, exploded in the car, injuring the passengers – a 54-year-old woman and three men, two of whom were her peers and the third was 43 years old. All residents of Kyiv region.
It was also established that the grenade was left in the car by an acquaintance of the victims – a 41-year-old resident of Kyiv, with whom they had a joint “business project”.
A few weeks ago, the attacker offered his acquaintances to give him several thousand US dollars, for which he had to buy cars abroad, deliver them to Ukraine, and then give them to “customers”.
Acquaintances gave the man a significant amount of money, but he did not buy cars, and misappropriated the money. border and together with the future owners came to Lviv region to meet non-existent cars.
Since the attacker did not actually buy any cars and did not intend to return the money, he decided to kill his “clients”. When everyone got into the Mitsubishi car, he got out of the car under a contrived pretext, leaving a bag with a grenade in the front passenger seat, which exploded, injuring people in the cabin. Fortunately, none of the people died.
The malefactor was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, the court will soon choose a measure of restraint for him.
Investigators of the territorial police unit informed the detainee about the suspicion of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 15, Clause 1, Part 2, Article 115 (Attempted murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of ten to fifteen years.
