Operatives of the Strategic Investigations Department in Lviv Oblast and investigators of the Regional Police Investigation Department found that two residents of Truskavets falsely employed citizens in NGOs.
Based on this, they entered information about them into the information base. Later, this gave them grounds to cross the border without hindrance.
In order to avoid identification and avoid liability for illegal actions, the defendants informed their “clients” about the time and month of the crossing a few hours before the crossing.
The police detained two organizers in Truskavets after they received USD 2,400, a part of the agreed amount. The suspects were served a notice of suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 332 (Illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
At the request of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the suspects were chosen custody as a measure of restraint with the right to be released on bail in the amount of UAH 181,000 and UAH 151,000.
