In Lviv Oblast, law enforcement officers have uncovered a channel for illegally transporting people across the border using the “Path” system

The men were looking for “clients” who intended to avoid mobilization into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and entered information about them into the electronic system “Shlyah”.

The law enforcement officers established that members of one of the charity organizations established a scheme for illegal departure of men of military age abroad. Information about evaders was illegally entered into the “Shlyah” electronic system as drivers for the transportation of humanitarian aid. The clients of the dealers were Ukrainians of conscription age and those subject to general mobilization. For this “service”, the scammers received a reward of 5,000 to 8,000 USD per person.

Based on the results of the operational measures, an evidence base was collected, which confirms the involvement of the persons involved in the implementation of illegal activities.

The investigators informed 12 perpetrators of the suspicion of committing a crime provided for in Part 2 of Art. 332 (Illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for deprivation of liberty for a period of five to seven years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years.

Actions to stop illegal activities were carried out by the operatives of the Lviv border detachment together with the investigators of the SE VP No. 2 of the Lviv district police department No. 1 of the National Police Department in the Lviv region, under the procedural guidance of the Zhovki department of the Chervonograd local prosecutor’s office.

The materials of the pre-trial investigation were sent to the court.
