The SBI reported the suspicion of a border guard who promised to transport a conscript abroad for $9,000
The DBR employees, in cooperation with the State Border Service, detained a law enforcement officer in the Lviv region who promised to smuggle a man of conscription age across the border for money.
A citizen of Ukraine who permanently lives and works in Poland, but recently returned to Ukraine to visit relatives, turned to the employee for advice. The man wanted to know how to legally get back to Poland, as he had not thought about it in advance.
The woman said that he will not be able to leave Ukraine legally, but for $9,000 she will be able to “help” organize his transportation.
She also offered her husband to find 3-4 more people who would like to go to Europe with him. The border guard assured that she would deliver the “group” by car to the border with Moldova or Poland, and would assist in the border crossing itself.
The official made an appointment to transfer the money at the premises of the real estate agency. After receiving the bribe, the accused was detained by law enforcement officers. The funds have been withdrawn.
