Road accident in Lviv region: Two foreign women hospitalized after crash
Two foreign women were injured in a road accident in the Lviv region. The police are investigating the circumstances of the incident.
Accident details
The road accident occurred on May 7, around 11:00, on the ‘Lviv-Sambir-Uzhgorod’ highway near the village of Borynia, Sambir District.
Preliminary findings by law enforcement revealed that the driver of a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 3100 minibus, a 24-year-old foreigner, lost control and veered off the road into a ditch where the vehicle overturned.
As a result of the accident, the passengers, foreign women aged 39 and 40, sustained bodily injuries and were hospitalized.
Investigation
The investigators of Police Department No.2 of the Sambir District Police have opened a criminal case under part 1 of article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided by the article is up to three years of restricted freedom, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
The authorities are establishing the circumstances of the event.
