In Lviv Oblast, two men will be tried for the fact of distributing materials, which contain a denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine

Under the procedural guidance of the prosecutors of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, indictments were sent to the court against a Lviv resident for the fact of distributing materials that contained objections to the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine (Part 2 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). As well as a resident of one of the cities of the Lviv Oblast for war propaganda (Article 436 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The investigation established that the Lviv native systematically posted anti-Ukrainian posts through his own account on the banned VKontakte social network. In particular, the accused distributed materials denying the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, which began in 2014.

It was also established that since April 2021, a resident of Lviv Oblast, using his own page on the banned Odnoklassniki social network, distributed materials calling for a resolution of the Russian military conflict with Ukraine.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the man has continued to distribute war propaganda posts.

The pre-trial investigation was carried out by the investigators of the SBU Office in the Lviv region.

Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
