In Lviv Oblast, an entrepreneur from Yavoriv Oblast will be prosecuted for unmanaged land use

The perpetrator arbitrarily created a pond on the agricultural plot, which caused the loss of the land’s fertility and led to its removal from agricultural use.

As the law enforcement officers established during the pre-trial investigation, a 37-year-old businessman, a resident of the town of Tvirzha, Yavoriv district, illegally used a plot of land for agricultural purposes, creating an artificial reservoir on it without permission. Such actions led to the violation of the structure of the fertile soil and the impossibility of further use of the site for its intended purpose.

Investigators of the territorial division of the police, under the procedural guidance of the Yavoriv district prosecutor’s office, informed the businessman of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense, provided for in part 1 of article 254 (Unmanaged use of land) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum punishment provided by the sanctions of the article is restriction of freedom for a term of up to two years, with or without deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to three years.
