Three “evaders” from service in the Armed Forces who forged documents on disability will be tried in Lviv region

Lviv police investigators have completed pre-trial investigations into three cases of forgery and use of a forged document to avoid mobilization – all defendants, residents of different regions of Ukraine, men of military age, tried to go abroad by presenting forged documents.

According to investigators of the Yavoriv District Police Department, a 34-year-old resident of Mykolaiv Oblast forged a medical and social examination report, entering inaccurate information about receiving a second disability group that entitles him to travel abroad for the duration of martial law. While at the Krakivets checkpoint, he presented a forged document in order to further cross the state border of Ukraine.

He was informed about the suspicion of committing criminal offenses under Part 1 and Part 4 of Article 358 (Forgery and use of knowingly forged document) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The pre-trial investigation has been completed, the indictment has been sent to court.

In addition, a 34-year-old resident of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast provided one of the messengers with his personal data to an unknown person to obtain a temporary certificate of military enlistment and a certificate of unfitness for military service. A 46-year-old resident of Kharkiv region provided his personal data for the production of a forged pension certificate and medical certificate of disability. The men presented these documents at the Hrushiv checkpoint in order to travel abroad without hindrance.

Investigators of the territorial police unit, under the procedural guidance of the Yavoriv District Prosecutor’s Office, completed pre-trial investigations in criminal proceedings under Part 5 of Article 27 – Part 1 of Article 358 (Assistance in forging a document) and Part 4 of Article 358 (Use of knowingly forged document) ) Of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The indictments have been submitted to the court. The suspect faces up to two years in prison.

It will be recalled that Decree of the President of Ukraine № 64/2022 of 24.02.2022 imposed martial law in the country and began mobilization in the Armed Forces of Ukraine with restrictions on the departure of male citizens aged 18 to 60 from Ukraine. Be responsible!
