In Lviv Region, Mazda Driver Killed in a Crash, Two Four-Year-Old Boys Injured

A tragic road accident occurred on January 8 at around 9:25 AM on the Brody-Radekhiv-Sheptytskyi highway near the village of Korchyn in the Sheptytskyi district.

Preliminary findings indicate that a Mazda CX-7, driven by a 30-year-old resident of Sheptytskyi, collided with a MAN truck, operated by a 57-year-old resident of Radekhiv.

The Mazda driver died at the scene from injuries sustained in the collision. Two four-year-old boys, passengers in the car and also residents of Sheptytskyi, suffered minor injuries.

Law enforcement has initiated a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of traffic safety rules). The penalty under this article ranges from three to eight years of imprisonment, with an optional ban on driving for up to three years.

Investigators are working to determine the circumstances of the incident.
