The police opened criminal proceedings on both facts, and all the circumstances of the events are being established.
On April 28, around 10:00 p.m., the driver of a VAZ – 21099 car, a 33-year-old local resident, hit a 37-year-old pedestrian, also a resident of Boryslav, on Drohobytsky Street in Boryslav.
As a result of his injuries, the pedestrian died at the scene.
Investigators of the transport crime investigation department of the Lviv Oblast police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years or without it.
On the same day, around 7:20 p.m., on Sambirska Street in the city of Rudka, the driver of a Skoda Fabia, a 34-year-old resident of the Sambir district, hit a 14-year-old local woman at an unregulated pedestrian crossing.
As a result of the road accident, the minor received injuries of varying degrees of severity and was hospitalized.
Investigators of the territorial division of the police opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of the rules of road traffic safety or operation of transport by a person driving a vehicle, which caused the victim medium serious bodily injury) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – restriction of freedom for a term of up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years.
Pre-trial investigations are ongoing. Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the events.
