The traffic accident happened today, April 12, around 11:40 a.m., on the highway “Kyiv-Chop” near the village of Yangelivka, Zolochiv district.
As previously established by the law enforcement officers, there was a collision between three vehicles: a Mercedes Benz Actros truck driven by a 56-year-old man, whose personal data is being verified, a DAF truck driven by a 47-year-old resident of the Rivne region, and a Toyota Camry car, which a 61-year-old man from Kyiv was in charge.
The driver of the car died at the scene of the injuries sustained as a result of the accident. The driver of the Mercedes Benz Actros and the passenger of the Toyota Camry, a 61-year-old woman from Kyiv, were injured and hospitalized.
According to the fact, the investigators of the Department of Investigation of Crimes in the Field of Transport of the Lviv Oblast Police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of Traffic Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years or without it.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
