In Lviv region, the BES stopped the illegal sale of e-cigarettes through a chain of stores
This was reported by the BES in Lviv region.
Detectives of the Territorial Department of the Security Service of Ukraine in Lviv region exposed a group of people who organised the wholesale sale of illegally manufactured excisable goods.
It was established that the sale of e-cigarettes without excise stamps and with excise stamps with signs of counterfeiting was carried out without a licence for wholesale or retail trade in tobacco products.
The network of stores and outlets was located in Lviv region and Lviv city.
The BES detectives conducted searches at the places of sale of cigarettes and residences of the offenders. As a result, more than 8000 polymeric containers of various volumes with e-cigarette liquids, containers, labels, draft records, computer equipment, etc. were seized.
The estimated value of the seized cigarettes is over UAH 5 million.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, the full range of persons involved in the illegal activity is being established. Prosecutors of the Lviv Region Prosecutor’s Office are providing procedural supervision.
