A native of Kherson is sentenced for drug trafficking in Lviv region

A native of Kherson will spend 9 years behind bars for selling over 740 grams of PVP and amphetamine

Following a public prosecution by prosecutors of the Yavoriv District Prosecutor’s Office, a 21-year-old native of Kherson was found guilty of illegal acquisition and storage with intent to sell particularly dangerous psychotropic substances in particularly large amounts (Part 3 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

He was sentenced to 9 years in prison with confiscation of property.

Prosecutors proved in court that in April this year, the defendant illegally purchased PVP and amphetamine, which he intended to sell.

To do this, he packed some of the “goods” at his place of residence into 16 separate parcels, with which he was detained near the post office while trying to send them.

In addition, the man made so-called “masterclasses” with prohibited substances in different locations in Novoyavorivsk and Lviv.

During the searches, a total of over 740 grams of PVP and amphetamine were found and seized.

The defendant will be detained until the verdict enters into force.

The pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the Yavoriv District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv region, with the operational support of the SBU Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv region.
