In Lviv Region, Two Drug Dealers Detained: They Face Up to 10 Years in Prison

On December 12, in the Lviv district, officers from the special police battalion detained two residents of Volyn, aged 20 and 21, involved in drug distribution. The suspects were found in possession of packages containing illegal substances and mobile phones with geolocation data of sites where they left so-called “stashes.”

During the operation, investigative and operational teams, along with criminal police officers, worked on-site. Authorities determined that the suspects were working for an online store and distributing narcotic and psychotropic substances through a “stash” system in the Lviv district.

Police seized substances resembling the psychotropic drug “PVP” and the narcotic “cannabis.” Several pre-arranged “stashes” were also discovered.

A search of the suspects’ car uncovered a plastic bag containing a psychotropic substance and other evidence confirming their involvement in illegal activities.

All seized substances were sent for examination to the Lviv Forensic Research Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

The suspects were charged under Part 2 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal production, storage, transportation, or sale of narcotics or psychotropic substances). The maximum penalty under this article is 10 years in prison with property confiscation.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and the court will soon determine the preventive measures for the suspects.
