Organizer of Illegal Border Crossing Scheme Detained in Lviv Region

Authorities in the Lviv region have uncovered another scheme for illegally transporting men subject to exit restrictions during martial law. Under the procedural guidance of the Specialized Defense Prosecutor’s Office of the Western Region, a 30-year-old resident of Stryi District has been charged under Article 332, Part 3, of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

According to investigators, the suspect arranged illegal border crossings for men to Poland for $21,000. He facilitated the entry of false information into the electronic “Shlyakh” database, registering the individuals as international transport drivers. Using falsified documents, they could cross the border and remain in the EU without hindrance.

Law enforcement documented the suspect’s criminal activities and detained him while receiving a $15,000 advance. The court imposed pretrial detention with the option of posting bail exceeding 150,000 UAH. Investigations are ongoing to determine the suspect’s involvement in similar crimes and identify all parties connected to the scheme.

Legal Penalty:

Under Article 332, Part 3, of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the suspect faces up to nine years of imprisonment, a three-year prohibition from holding certain positions or engaging in specific activities, and property confiscation.

Note:

According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime until proven guilty by a court and confirmed by a judicial verdict.
