Lviv region: 37-year-old man sentenced to 3 years in prison for evading mobilisation

Following a public prosecution by the Zolochiv District Prosecutor’s Office, the man was found guilty of evading conscription for military service during mobilisation (Article 336 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

He was sentenced to 3 years in prison.

Prosecutors proved in court that the defendant was found medically fit for military service, as confirmed by the conclusion of the military medical commission. The man received a summons against his personal signature, which indicated the date of his arrival at the territorial recruitment and social support centre.

However, he did not report to the centre on the specified date without good reason. Thus, the person liable for military service violated the requirements of the current legislation and evaded military conscription.

The pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the Police Department No. 1 of the Zolochiv District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police of the region.

The court verdict will come into force after the expiration of the appeal period.
