On December 17, around 7:40 p.m., a road accident occurred on the “Mostyska-Sambir-Boryslav-Drohobych” highway near the village of Lukavytsia in Sambir district, resulting in injuries to a pedestrian.

Preliminary police reports indicate that a 40-year-old Audi A6 driver, a resident of Sambir, struck a 43-year-old pedestrian from a nearby village.

The Sambir District Police Department has initiated criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (“Violation of Traffic Safety Rules”). The maximum penalty under this article includes up to three years of restricted freedom and a three-year driving ban.
