In Sambir Oblast, the police discovered the fact of illegal extraction of sand and gravel mixture

A tractor with a trailer loaded with gravel was removed from the scene.

On July 20, while working out the territory of the district, employees of the response sector of the patrol police of police department No. 1 of the Sambir district police department discovered the fact of illegal taking of sand and gravel mixture from the Strayazh River by local residents.

The investigative and operative group and other employees of the territorial division of the police worked on the spot. As the law enforcement officers established, two local residents aged 45 and 47, using a “Jinma” tractor with a home-made trailer, illegally mined the sand-gravel mixture and loaded it for further transportation.

According to the fact, the investigators of the territorial unit of the police, under the procedural guidance of the Sambir district prosecutor’s office, opened criminal proceedings under part 1 of article 240 (Violation of the rules of protection or use of subsoil, illegal extraction of minerals) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum punishment provided by the sanctions of the articles is imprisonment for a term of up to two years.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
