Detainees who sold narcotic tablets “Subutex” to the residents of the Sambir region face a penalty of imprisonment for up to ten years with confiscation of property.
The perpetrators were exposed by operatives of the criminal police together with investigators of police department No. 1 of the Sambir district police department, under the procedural guidance of the Sambir district prosecutor’s office.
As the law enforcement officers established, twice a week, a 52-year-old man from Lviv sent drug-containing tablets “Subutex” to a 43-year-old resident of Sambir Oblast, which he sold to drug-addicted local residents.
The perpetrators were detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
During the authorized searches conducted at the place of residence of both suspects, the police found and seized drug-containing pills, money obtained from illegal activities, and other physical evidence.
Everything seized was sent to the Lviv Research Expert Forensic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine for expert research.
Investigators of the territorial division of the police informed the detainees about suspicions of committing a criminal offense provided for in part 1 and part 2 of article 307 (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, forwarding or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty that threatens the suspects is imprisonment for a term of up to ten years with confiscation of property.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, the court will soon choose a preventive measure for the perpetrators.
